This is the first-order Taylor-sum decomposition for a vector Itô-process version.

Let (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal F,P)(Ω,F,P) be a probability space, let WWW be a ddd-dimensional Brownian motion with coordinate Brownian filtrations, and let HpkH_{pk}Hpk satisfy measurability, progressive measurability, and finite squared extended-integral assumptions. Let XXX be an IsVectorItoVersion with measurable drifts bpb_pbp. Assume that the drifts are bounded in absolute value by B∈RB\in\mathbb RB∈R (without a separate nonnegativity assumption), let f′f'f′ be a continuous linear map-valued function on Fin⁡(n)→R\operatorname{Fin}(n)\to\mathbb RFin(n)→R, and let T>0T>0T>0 and m≠0m\ne0m=0.

For almost every ω\omegaω,

∑i<mf′(Xti)(Xti+1−Xti)=∑p∑i<m∂pf′(Xti)∫(ti,ti+1]bp(ω,s) ds+∑p∑k∑i<m∂pf′(Xti)(Ipk(ti+1,ω)−Ipk(ti,ω)),\begin{aligned} \sum_{i<m} f'(X_{t_i})\bigl(X_{t_{i+1}}-X_{t_i}\bigr) ={}&\sum_p\sum_{i<m}\partial_p f'(X_{t_i})\int_{(t_i,t_{i+1}]} b_p(\omega,s)\,ds\\ &+\sum_p\sum_k\sum_{i<m}\partial_p f'(X_{t_i}) \bigl(I_{pk}(t_{i+1},\omega)-I_{pk}(t_i,\omega)\bigr), \end{aligned}i<m∑f′(Xti)(Xti+1−Xti)=p∑i<m∑∂pf′(Xti)∫(ti,ti+1]bp(ω,s)ds+p∑k∑i<m∑∂pf′(Xti)(Ipk(ti+1,ω)−Ipk(ti,ω)),

where ti=unifGrid⁡(T,m,i)t_i=\operatorname{unifGrid}(T,m,i)ti=unifGrid(T,m,i) and IpkI_{pk}Ipk is coordItoIntegral.

This identity isolates the drift and martingale Riemann sums in the vector Itô decomposition.

Formalization Note The equality is almost everywhere with respect to PPP; coordDeriv, coordItoIntegral, and unifGrid are the relevant Lean definitions.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
