Vertices of a polygonal arc lie on its carrier

Proved
PolygonalArcVertexMemCarrier

by xuanji · Sep 27, 2026 · Mathlib 0df444a (Lean v4.33.1)

geometrypolygonal-arcs

For a polygonal arc Γ\GammaΓ, every point appearing in its finite vertex list belongs to the arc's carrier. Thus each polygonal vertex is contained in one of the segments making up the carrier. This elementary structural fact lets endpoint and vertex membership be converted into carrier membership in later geometric arguments.

Formalization Note The vertex list is represented as a Lean List, while membership in the carrier is membership in the set defined by the arc's segment decomposition.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
