This is the compactly supported integration-by-parts identity for the weighted Laplacian.

Let EEE be finite-dimensional, complete, and equipped with a real inner product; let mmm be an additive Haar measure; and let V,f,w:E→RV,f,w:E\to\mathbb RV,f,w:E→R. Assume that VVV is C1C^1C1, fff and www are C2C^2C2, and www has compact support. Then

∫(LVf)(x)w(x) d(m.tilted⁡(−V))(x)=−∫⟨∇f(x),∇w(x)⟩ d(m.tilted⁡(−V))(x).\int (\mathcal L_Vf)(x)w(x)\,d\bigl(m.\operatorname{tilted}(-V)\bigr)(x) =-\int\langle\nabla f(x),\nabla w(x)\rangle\,d\bigl(m.\operatorname{tilted}(-V)\bigr)(x).∫(LVf)(x)w(x)d(m.tilted(−V))(x)=−∫⟨∇f(x),∇w(x)⟩d(m.tilted(−V))(x).

Here weightedLaplacian V f is LVf\mathcal L_VfLVf. The result is the compact-support form of the first integration-by-parts equality.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
