Let SSS be a nonempty finite set of distinct integer polynomials. Assume each polynomial is irreducible, has positive leading coefficient and positive degree, and that for every prime ppp some integer avoids all their roots modulo ppp. Write k=∣S∣k=|S|k=∣S∣ and let ωp(S)\omega_p(S)ωp(S) count the residue classes modulo ppp at which at least one polynomial vanishes. Then there is a positive real number CCC such that

lim⁡N→∞∏p<N(1−1/p)−k(1−ωp(S)/p)=C>0.\lim_{N\to\infty}\prod_{p<N}(1-1/p)^{-k}(1-\omega_p(S)/p)=C>0.N→∞limp<N∏(1−1/p)−k(1−ωp(S)/p)=C>0.

This is the classical convergence theorem for the singular product, separate from the conjectural prime-counting asymptotic. The primes are taken in increasing order; absolute convergence is not asserted. The source's convention for convergence of a product of positive factors requires its limit to be nonzero.

This node records a known mathematical result whose Lean proof is still required.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
