Consider the model of Appendix 3. The beables are angle triples (θ1,θ2,θ3)(\theta_1,\theta_2,\theta_3)(θ1,θ2,θ3). The local responses are

Pj(α∣θj,x^)=1+αcos⁡θj2,Pj(α∣θj,y^)=1+αsin⁡θj2(Eq. (43)),P_j(\alpha\mid\theta_j,\hat x)=\tfrac{1+\alpha\cos\theta_j}{2},\qquad P_j(\alpha\mid\theta_j,\hat y)=\tfrac{1+\alpha\sin\theta_j}{2}\qquad\text{(Eq. (43)),}Pj(α∣θj,x^)=21+αcosθj,Pj(α∣θj,y^)=21+αsinθj(Eq. (43)),

and the setting-dependent density is

ρ(⋅∣n^1,n^2,n^3)=14∑v1v2v3=sδ(ϑ(n^1,v1),ϑ(n^2,v2),ϑ(n^3,v3))(Eqs. (44)–(45)),\rho(\cdot\mid\hat n_1,\hat n_2,\hat n_3)=\tfrac14\sum_{v_1v_2v_3=s}\delta_{(\vartheta(\hat n_1,v_1),\vartheta(\hat n_2,v_2),\vartheta(\hat n_3,v_3))}\qquad\text{(Eqs. (44)–(45)),}ρ(⋅∣n^1,n^2,n^3)=41v1v2v3=s∑δ(ϑ(n^1,v1),ϑ(n^2,v2),ϑ(n^3,v3))(Eqs. (44)–(45)),

where s=−1s=-1s=−1 for (x^,x^,x^)(\hat x,\hat x,\hat x)(x^,x^,x^), s=+1s=+1s=+1 for the other three GHZ settings, and ϑ(±x^)∈{0,π}\vartheta(\pm\hat x)\in\{0,\pi\}ϑ(±x^)∈{0,π}, ϑ(±y^)=±π/2\vartheta(\pm\hat y)=\pm\pi/2ϑ(±y^)=±π/2 are polar angles.

Then for each of the four GHZ settings (n^1,n^2,n^3)(\hat n_1,\hat n_2,\hat n_3)(n^1,n^2,n^3) and all α,β,γ∈{±1}\alpha,\beta,\gamma\in\{\pm1\}α,β,γ∈{±1},

∫P1(α∣θ1,n^1)P2(β∣θ2,n^2)P3(γ∣θ3,n^3) dρ(θ∣n^1,n^2,n^3)=P(α,β,γ∣n^1,n^2,n^3,ψ)\int P_1(\alpha\mid\theta_1,\hat n_1)P_2(\beta\mid\theta_2,\hat n_2)P_3(\gamma\mid\theta_3,\hat n_3)\,d\rho(\theta\mid\hat n_1,\hat n_2,\hat n_3)=P(\alpha,\beta,\gamma\mid\hat n_1,\hat n_2,\hat n_3,\psi)∫P1(α∣θ1,n^1)P2(β∣θ2,n^2)P3(γ∣θ3,n^3)dρ(θ∣n^1,n^2,n^3)=P(α,β,γ∣n^1,n^2,n^3,ψ)

(Eqs. (39)–(42)).

The model keeps the local factorization of Eq. (17) and gives up statistical independence (Eq. (18)). This is the paper's example that the GHZ correlations can be reproduced once superdeterminism is allowed.

Read-back

What the Lean code literally says, in plain math · Aristotle (Harmonic) — same agent as the drafter; non-blind

Non-blind read-back — not independent testimony. This read-back was written by the same agent that drafted the Lean statements of this proposal, with full knowledge of the source paper and of the intended meaning. It is not a blind, independent audit and must not be mistaken for independent testimony; reviewers should compare the Lean code against the source themselves.

Statement. Let n1,n2,n3∈{x,y}n_1,n_2,n_3\in\{x,y\}n1,n2,n3∈{x,y}, and assume (n1,n2,n3)(n_1,n_2,n_3)(n1,n2,n3) is one of (x,x,x)(x,x,x)(x,x,x), (x,y,y)(x,y,y)(x,y,y), (y,x,y)(y,x,y)(y,x,y), (y,y,x)(y,y,x)(y,y,x). Then for all α,β,γ∈{±1}\alpha,\beta,\gamma\in\{\pm1\}α,β,γ∈{±1},

∫R3r(θ1,n1,α) r(θ2,n2,β) r(θ3,n3,γ) dμn1n2n3(θ)=bornProb(n1,n2,n3;α,β,γ).\int_{\mathbb R^3} r(\theta_1,n_1,\alpha)\,r(\theta_2,n_2,\beta)\,r(\theta_3,n_3,\gamma)\,d\mu_{n_1n_2n_3}(\theta)=\mathrm{bornProb}(n_1,n_2,n_3;\alpha,\beta,\gamma).∫R3r(θ1,n1,α)r(θ2,n2,β)r(θ3,n3,γ)dμn1n2n3(θ)=bornProb(n1,n2,n3;α,β,γ).

The ingredients are:

  • r(θ,x,α)=(1+αcos⁡θ)/2r(\theta,x,\alpha)=(1+\alpha\cos\theta)/2r(θ,x,α)=(1+αcosθ)/2 and r(θ,y,α)=(1+αsin⁡θ)/2r(\theta,y,\alpha)=(1+\alpha\sin\theta)/2r(θ,y,α)=(1+αsinθ)/2;
  • μn1n2n3=14∑δ(ϑ(n1,v1),ϑ(n2,v2),ϑ(n3,v3))\mu_{n_1n_2n_3}=\frac14\sum\delta_{(\vartheta(n_1,v_1),\vartheta(n_2,v_2),\vartheta(n_3,v_3))}μn1n2n3=41∑δ(ϑ(n1,v1),ϑ(n2,v2),ϑ(n3,v3)), summed over the (v1,v2,v3)∈{±1}3(v_1,v_2,v_3)\in\{\pm1\}^3(v1,v2,v3)∈{±1}3 with v1v2v3=s(n1,n2,n3)v_1v_2v_3=s(n_1,n_2,n_3)v1v2v3=s(n1,n2,n3);
  • s(x,x,x)=−1s(x,x,x)=-1s(x,x,x)=−1, and s=+1s=+1s=+1 otherwise;
  • ϑ(x,1)=0\vartheta(x,1)=0ϑ(x,1)=0, ϑ(x,−1)=π\vartheta(x,-1)=\piϑ(x,−1)=π, ϑ(y,1)=π/2\vartheta(y,1)=\pi/2ϑ(y,1)=π/2, ϑ(y,−1)=−π/2\vartheta(y,-1)=-\pi/2ϑ(y,−1)=−π/2.

The integral is a Bochner integral against a finite sum of point masses. The right-hand side is the Born probability for ψ=(∣000⟩−∣111⟩)/2\psi=(|000\rangle-|111\rangle)/\sqrt2ψ=(∣000⟩−∣111⟩)/2. The other four setting triples are excluded by the membership hypothesis.
