This is a graph-convergence lemma for T†TT^\dagger TT†T.

Let H0,H1H_0,H_1H0,H1 be real inner-product spaces, let T:H0→H1T:H_0\to H_1T:H0→H1 be a linear partial map, and assume that D(T)D(T)D(T) is dense in H0H_0H0. Let xn∈D(T†T)x_n\in D(T^\dagger T)xn∈D(T†T) and y∈D(T†T)y\in D(T^\dagger T)y∈D(T†T). If

  1. xn→yx_n\to yxn→y in H0H_0H0, and
  2. T†Txn→T†TyT^\dagger T x_n\to T^\dagger T yT†Txn→T†Ty in H0H_0H0,

then

Txn⟶Ty.Tx_n\longrightarrow Ty.Txn⟶Ty.

This is a technical von Neumann-type continuity statement for the graph of T†TT^\dagger TT†T.

Formalization Note. The sequence is indexed by N\mathbb NN, and the operator values are represented using subtype witnesses for domain membership.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
