Let EEE be a seminormed additive group and let a,b,c,d,e,f∈Ea, b, c, d, e, f \in Ea,b,c,d,e,f∈E. Then

∥a+b+c+d+e+f∥  ≤  ∥a∥+∥b∥+∥c∥+∥d∥+∥e∥+∥f∥.\|a + b + c + d + e + f\| \;\le\; \|a\| + \|b\| + \|c\| + \|d\| + \|e\| + \|f\|.∥a+b+c+d+e+f∥≤∥a∥+∥b∥+∥c∥+∥d∥+∥e∥+∥f∥.

This is the six-term iteration of the triangle inequality, companion to the five-term version. It is used in the PNT+ zeta-bound estimates where an expression (such as the truncated Euler--Maclaurin expansion of ζ\zetaζ or ζ′\zeta'ζ′) is decomposed into six summands, each bounded separately; the lemma then aggregates the individual bounds into a bound on the whole expression in one application.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
