Let 0<a≤M0<a\le M0<a≤M be natural numbers. A column is a prime power pj≤Mp^j\le Mpj≤M with j≥1j\ge1j≥1, and it contains aaa when pj∣ap^j\mid apj∣a. Then

#{(p,j):p prime, j≥1, pj≤M, pj∣a}≤⌊log⁡2M⌋.\#\{(p,j):p\text{ prime},\ j\ge1,\ p^j\le M,\ p^j\mid a\}\le\lfloor\log_2 M\rfloor.#{(p,j):p prime, j≥1, pj≤M, pj∣a}≤⌊log2M⌋.

This supplies the column-degree bound for deterministic rounding of positive integer factors. All prime powers, including repeated powers of the same prime, are counted.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
