This statement formalizes the second-order energy-form identity associated with (88) of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1).

Let n,r∈Nn,r\in\mathbb Nn,r∈N, let T,XT,XT,X be order-rrr coordinate tensors on Rn\mathbb R^nRn, and let HHH be a self-adjoint continuous linear operator on Rn\mathbb R^nRn. Writing MMM for its standard matrix, define

F(ε)=energyForm⁡(I+εH,T+εX).F(\varepsilon)=\operatorname{energyForm}(I+\varepsilon H,T+\varepsilon X).F(ε)=energyForm(I+εH,T+εX).

Then

F′′(0)=2(∥X∥2−2⟨X,ΣMT⟩+12∥ΣMT∥2+12∑s∥M(s)T∥2).F''(0)=2\left( \|X\|^2-2\langle X,\Sigma_M T\rangle +\frac12\|\Sigma_M T\|^2 +\frac12\sum_s\|M^{(s)}T\|^2 \right).F′′(0)=2(∥X∥2−2⟨X,ΣMT⟩+21∥ΣMT∥2+21s∑∥M(s)T∥2).

This is the exact second derivative along the specified line and is used in the tensor energy estimates.

Formalization Note The tensor inner product and norms are the finite coordinate sums defined in Lean; no dimension restriction beyond n,r∈Nn,r\in\mathbb Nn,r∈N is imposed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
