This lemma computes the prefix sums of the lifted sequence exactly.

Let m1≥1m_1 \ge 1m1≥1, m2m_2m2 and M≥m1M \ge m_1M≥m1 be natural numbers, and let xL=(L mod m1)+M⌊L/m1⌋x_L = (L \bmod m_1) + M \lfloor L/m_1 \rfloorxL=(Lmodm1)+M⌊L/m1⌋ for L∈NL \in \mathbb{N}L∈N. Let A=(a1,…,am1m2−1)A = (a_1, \dots, a_{m_1 m_2 - 1})A=(a1,…,am1m2−1) be the lifted sequence of the Lift bundle, with ai=xi−xi−1a_i = x_i - x_{i-1}ai=xi−xi−1; it is the sequence of jumps of the grid X={u+Mj:0≤u≤m1−1, 0≤j≤m2−1}X = \{u + Mj : 0 \le u \le m_1 - 1,\ 0 \le j \le m_2 - 1\}X={u+Mj:0≤u≤m1−1, 0≤j≤m2−1}. Then for every LLL with 0≤L≤m1m2−10 \le L \le m_1 m_2 - 10≤L≤m1m2−1, the sum of the first LLL entries of AAA is

a1+a2+⋯+aL=(L mod m1)+M⌊Lm1⌋=xL.a_1 + a_2 + \dots + a_L = (L \bmod m_1) + M \left\lfloor \frac{L}{m_1} \right\rfloor = x_L .a1+a2+⋯+aL=(Lmodm1)+M⌊m1L⌋=xL.

For L=0L = 0L=0 both sides are 000.

The formula identifies the prefix sums of AAA with the elements of the grid XXX. It is the fourth part of the lift lemma, and it gives the bound on the prefix averages of AAA that the lower bound L(n)≥m1m2L(n) \ge m_1 m_2L(n)≥m1m2 needs.

Formalization Note "The first LLL entries" is List.take L, and m1m2−1m_1 m_2 - 1m1m2−1 is truncated subtraction on N\mathbb{N}N. There is no hypothesis on m2m_2m2; for m2=0m_2 = 0m2=0 only L=0L = 0L=0 is allowed.
