A codimension-one grid simplex lies in one or two full simplices

Proved

by scanstone · Oct 14, 2026 · Mathlib 0df444a (Lean v4.33.1)

In a Sperner cube of dimension n=n1+1n=n_1+1n=n1+1, let III be a grid n1n_1n1-simplex. If some coordinate is constantly 000 or constantly ppp along its vertices, exactly one grid nnn-simplex has III as a face; otherwise exactly two do.

This is the door-counting step of Kuhn's cubical Sperner lemma.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
