Let s(f)s(f)s(f) and bs⁡(f)\operatorname{bs}(f)bs(f) denote the sensitivity and block sensitivity of a finite Boolean function. Set

α=log⁡(140554)log⁡(61141556)=2.1308253795064718647….\alpha=\frac{\log(14055^4)}{\log(61141556)} =2.1308253795064718647\ldots.α=log(61141556)log(140554)=2.1308253795064718647….

For every ε>0\varepsilon>0ε>0 and every integer S≥2S\ge2S≥2, there exist an integer nnn and a Boolean function f:{0,1}n→{0,1}f:\{0,1\}^n\to\{0,1\}f:{0,1}n→{0,1} such that

s(f)≥S,bs⁡(f)≥s(f)α−ε.s(f)\ge S,\qquad \operatorname{bs}(f)\ge s(f)^{\alpha-\varepsilon}.s(f)≥S,bs(f)≥s(f)α−ε.

Furthermore,

log⁡(126074)log⁡(50063523)<α.\frac{\log(12607^4)}{\log(50063523)}<\alpha.log(50063523)log(126074)<α.

The new exponent improves the previously proved value by more than 0.0005050.0005050.000505. It combines a simultaneous ordinary and source-sensitive labeling with refined guard counting in a coupled recursive Boolean construction. No claim of global optimality is made.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
