matrix-multiplication

This is the position layout that links the six regional child windows of the level-3 stage to the pooled level-2 source and the zero-half boundary source. It is the "source compatible with childWindow" part of WP6.

Setting. This uses the notation of refthe level-2 continuation from child windows. The window predicate Wδ(i,y)\mathcal W_\delta(i,y)Wδ(i,y) says: for every region rrr, the word yr=y∘E(r,⋅)y_r=y\circ E(r,\cdot)yr=y∘E(r,⋅) read through frame FrF_rFr is graded in mode σr−1i\sigma_r^{-1}iσr−1i, and every level-3 cell's half-word frequency is within δ\deltaδ of that of k2μr(3)(σr−1i)k^2\mu^{(3)}_r(\sigma_r^{-1}i)k2μr(3)(σr−1i). Two further sources are used:

  • StS_tSt is the pooled level-2 source of refthe pooled level-2 step (parent-graded and parentTypical at tolerance τt\tau_tτt) at t=k2t=k^2t=k2;
  • ZK,ζZ_{K,\zeta}ZK,ζ is the zero-half source of refthe zero-half boundary at K=k2K=k^2K=k2.

Claim. For every δ>0\delta>0δ>0 and all sufficiently large kkk there are:

  • a reference family aaa and released frames FrF_rFr at scale k2k^2k2 such that, for every bijection EEE;
  • LLL and ζ:Fin L→{zero cells}\zeta:\mathrm{Fin}\,L\to\{\text{zero cells}\}ζ:FinL→{zero cells} with fibres k2M(z)k^2M(z)k2M(z);
  • a bijection pos:Fin(lenk2)⊔Fin(2L)≃Fin Nk2(a)\mathrm{pos}:\mathrm{Fin}(\mathrm{len}_{k^2})\sqcup\mathrm{Fin}(2L)\simeq\mathrm{Fin}\,N_{k^2}(a)pos:Fin(lenk2)⊔Fin(2L)≃FinNk2(a);

such that for all iii and yyy,

Sk2(i, y∘pos∘inl) ∧ Zk2,ζ(i, y∘pos∘inr) ⟹ Wδ(i,y).S_{k^2}(i,\ y\circ\mathrm{pos}\circ\mathrm{inl})\ \wedge\ Z_{k^2,\zeta}(i,\ y\circ\mathrm{pos}\circ\mathrm{inr})\ \Longrightarrow\ \mathcal W_\delta(i,y).Sk2(i, y∘pos∘inl) ∧ Zk2,ζ(i, y∘pos∘inr) ⟹ Wδ(i,y).

Why it should hold. Each level-3 half of region ρ\rhoρ lies in the cell fullCell(Fρ.ref,p)=(r,s)\mathrm{fullCell}(F_\rho.\mathrm{ref},p)=(r,s)fullCell(Fρ.ref,p)=(r,s).

  • Zero halves. Halves with a zero in sss go to ζ\zetaζ with ζ=(ρ,(r,s))\zeta=(\rho,(r,s))ζ=(ρ,(r,s)). Since Fρ.refF_\rho.\mathrm{ref}Fρ.ref lies in the target, the fibre sizes are k2M(z)k^2M(z)k2M(z).

  • Positive halves. Halves with sss positive go to the level-2 region matching (ρ,r,s)(\rho,r,s)(ρ,r,s), whose two fine letters are that block's two level-1 halves. There is an exact bijection between the 110411041104 positive cells (ρ,r,s)(\rho,r,s)(ρ,r,s) and the 110411041104 level-2 terms, checked in Python on the released tables:

    • the shape is s∘σρ−1s\circ\sigma_\rho^{-1}s∘σρ−1 (physical orientation);
    • the weight is w3(ρ,r) (wts+wtsˉ)w_3(\rho,r)\,(\mathrm{wt}_s+\mathrm{wt}_{\bar s})w3(ρ,r)(wts+wtsˉ);
    • the split parameter is s0s_0s0 of the cell.

    So the block counts agree, k2M=k2n2k^2M=k^2n_2k2M=k2n2.

  • Mixtures. The level-2 mixture equals the cell's word frequency: both are childW(⋅)/D\texttt{childW}(\cdot)/DchildW(⋅)/D, and jw is symmetric under permuting coordinates.

  • Conclusion. Parent-gradedness gives the level-3 grades. τk2→0\tau_{k^2}\to0τk2→0 gives the δ\deltaδ-windows on positive cells. Exact zero-cell histograms give frequency error 000. Cells with no halves have frequency 000 on both sides.
