Let v∈C∖Q‾v \in \mathbb{C} \setminus \overline{\mathbb{Q}}v∈C∖Q with vvˉ=1v\bar v = 1vvˉ=1. Let k≥0k \geq 0k≥0, let cj∈Q‾c_j \in \overline{\mathbb{Q}}cj∈Q for all j∈Zj \in \mathbb{Z}j∈Z, and put z=∑j=−kkcjvjz = \sum_{j=-k}^{k} c_jv^jz=∑j=−kkcjvj and W=spanQ‾(1,v,vˉ,z,zˉ)W = \mathrm{span}_{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}}(1, v, \bar v, z, \bar z)W=spanQ(1,v,vˉ,z,zˉ). If dim⁡Q‾W≤4\dim_{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}} W \leq 4dimQW≤4, then WWW carries no 2×32 \times 32×3 configuration (free x0,x1x_0, x_1x0,x1 and free y0,y1,y2y_0, y_1, y_2y0,y1,y2 over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q with all six products xiyjx_iy_jxiyj in the space).

Proof. Let H0=span(1,v,vˉ)H_0 = \mathrm{span}(1, v, \bar v)H0=span(1,v,vˉ). If z∈H0z \in H_0z∈H0, then zˉ∈H0\bar z \in H_0zˉ∈H0 and W⊆H0W \subseteq H_0W⊆H0, the polynomial hull of P=0P = 0P=0, where Theorem C(iii) (DiazModulus.polynomial_hull_no_two_by_three_configuration) excludes a configuration. Otherwise 1,v,vˉ,z1, v, \bar v, z1,v,vˉ,z are free, so W=H0+Q‾zW = H_0 + \overline{\mathbb{Q}}zW=H0+Qz has dimension 444, and a configuration would, by Theorem B (DiazModulus.circle_point_extension_two_by_three_configuration_iff), put zzz in H0+Q‾wH_0 + \overline{\mathbb{Q}}wH0+Qw with a non-zero coefficient δ\deltaδ on some w∈{v2,vˉ2,(v−a)−1}w \in \{v^2, \bar v^2, (v - a)^{-1}\}w∈{v2,vˉ2,(v−a)−1}, a≠0a \neq 0a=0. For w=v2w = v^2w=v2 or vˉ2\bar v^2vˉ2, the relation zˉ∈span(1,v,vˉ,z)\bar z \in \mathrm{span}(1, v, \bar v, z)zˉ∈span(1,v,vˉ,z) times v2v^2v2 is a quartic identity at the transcendental vvv whose constant, resp. top, coefficient is δˉ\bar\deltaδˉ, so δ=0\delta = 0δ=0. For w=(v−a)−1w = (v - a)^{-1}w=(v−a)−1, vkz=F(v)v^kz = F(v)vkz=F(v) gives X(X−a)F=(X−a)B+δXk+1X(X - a)F = (X - a)B + \delta X^{k+1}X(X−a)F=(X−a)B+δXk+1 in Q‾[X]\overline{\mathbb{Q}}[X]Q[X], which at X=aX = aX=a reads 0=δak+10 = \delta a^{k+1}0=δak+1.

Novelty. Not found in the sources read; routine, as a consequence of Theorem B (DiazModulus.circle_point_extension_two_by_three_configuration_iff) and Theorem C(iii) (DiazModulus.polynomial_hull_no_two_by_three_configuration).

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
