Let K/QK/\mathbb QK/Q be Galois with all automorphisms of order at most two, and let ppp be prime. The semilocal actions of any two automorphisms commute:

ρp(σ)ρp(τ)=ρp(τ)ρp(σ).\rho_p(\sigma)\rho_p(\tau)=\rho_p(\tau)\rho_p(\sigma).ρp(σ)ρp(τ)=ρp(τ)ρp(σ).

Together with the involution property, these commuting operators are the algebraic starting point for the simultaneous sign-eigenspace decomposition of semilocal units in the multiquadratic case.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
