For every natural number m>2⋅1018m > 2\cdot 10^{18}m>2⋅1018, the part of the weighted symmetric-offset sum coming from offsets where at least one of m−tm-tm−t, m+tm+tm+t is a proper prime power (rather than prime) satisfies

∑0≤t≤m−2not both primeΛ(m−t) Λ(m+t)  ≤  110 S(2m) m.\sum_{\substack{0 \le t \le m-2 \\ \text{not both prime}}} \Lambda(m-t)\,\Lambda(m+t) \;\le\; \tfrac{1}{10}\,\mathfrak{S}(2m)\,m.0≤t≤m−2not both prime∑Λ(m−t)Λ(m+t)≤101S(2m)m.

This is elementary: proper prime powers below 2m2m2m number O(mlog⁡2m)O(\sqrt m \log_2 m)O(mlog2m) and each term is at most log⁡2(2m)\log^2(2m)log2(2m), so the sum is O(m polylog m)O(\sqrt m\,\mathrm{polylog}\, m)O(mpolylogm) — dwarfed by the linear main term. It is the standard ``remove the prime powers'' step that passes from the weighted circle-method count to the genuine prime-pair count.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
