Let X⊂RX \subset \mathbb{R}X⊂R be a nonempty interval and let QQQ be a rich and commutative family of increasing bijections of XXX. Then

idX∈Q.\mathrm{id}_X \in Q.idX∈Q.

It is one of the group axioms that, together with (d) and (e), make (Q,∘)(Q, \circ)(Q,∘) an abelian group.

Formalization Note. Nonemptiness of XXX is needed: for X=∅X = \varnothingX=∅ the empty family is vacuously rich.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
