This formalizes the density identity (109) in the proof of Proposition 7.1 of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1), p. 28.

Let V,f:EuclideanSpace⁡(R,Fin⁡n)→RV,f:\operatorname{EuclideanSpace}(\mathbb R,\operatorname{Fin}n)\to\mathbb RV,f:EuclideanSpace(R,Finn)→R be measurable, let β>0\beta>0β>0, and assume e−Ve^{-V}e−V is integrable with respect to Lebesgue measure. Let μ\muμ be the probability measure obtained by tilting Lebesgue measure by −V-V−V. For every N∈NN\in\mathbb NN∈N, the joint law formed from NNN independent copies with law μ\muμ and an independent Laplace variable of parameter β\betaβ equals the tilted Lebesgue measure on the joint space with potential

WN(p)=∑i=1NV(xi)+β∣σβs−1N∑i=1Nf(xi)∣,W_N(p)=\sum_{i=1}^N V(x_i)+\beta\left|\sigma_\beta s-\frac1{\sqrt N}\sum_{i=1}^N f(x_i)\right|,WN(p)=i=1∑NV(xi)+βσβs−N1i=1∑Nf(xi),

where s=p(none⁡)s=p(\operatorname{none})s=p(none), xix_ixi is the coordinate indexed by some (i,j), and σβ=1+2/β2\sigma_\beta=\sqrt{1+2/\beta^2}σβ=1+2/β2.

In Lean notation, the conclusion is the equality between jointLaw and Measure.tilted by the negative of potential. This identifies the suspension distribution with a normalized tilted Lebesgue law and is used in subsequent log-concavity arguments.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
