Let v∈C∖Q‾v \in \mathbb{C} \setminus \overline{\mathbb{Q}}v∈C∖Q with vvˉ=1v\bar v = 1vvˉ=1. Let e,β,ζ∈Q‾e, \beta, \zeta \in \overline{\mathbb{Q}}e,β,ζ∈Q with β≠0\beta \neq 0β=0, and suppose that S=spanQ‾(1,v,vˉ,vˉ2+ev2,βvˉ3+ζv2+ev3)S = \mathrm{span}_{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}}(1, v, \bar v, \bar v^2 + ev^2, \beta\bar v^3 + \zeta v^2 + ev^3)S=spanQ(1,v,vˉ,vˉ2+ev2,βvˉ3+ζv2+ev3) is stable under complex conjugation: wˉ∈S\bar w \in Swˉ∈S for every w∈Sw \in Sw∈S. Then eeˉ=1e\bar e = 1eeˉ=1, ββˉ=1\beta\bar\beta = 1ββˉ=1 and ζ=−βe2ζˉ\zeta = -\beta e^2\bar\zetaζ=−βe2ζˉ.

Proof. Write n0=vˉ2+ev2n_0 = \bar v^2 + ev^2n0=vˉ2+ev2 and n1=βvˉ3+ζv2+ev3n_1 = \beta\bar v^3 + \zeta v^2 + ev^3n1=βvˉ3+ζv2+ev3. Conjugation fixes SSS, so nˉ0=v2+eˉvˉ2\bar n_0 = v^2 + \bar e\bar v^2nˉ0=v2+eˉvˉ2 and nˉ1=βˉv3+ζˉvˉ2+eˉvˉ3\bar n_1 = \bar\beta v^3 + \bar\zeta\bar v^2 + \bar e\bar v^3nˉ1=βˉv3+ζˉvˉ2+eˉvˉ3 are Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-combinations of 1,v,vˉ,n0,n11, v, \bar v, n_0, n_11,v,vˉ,n0,n1; multiplied by v3v^3v3, each relation is a polynomial identity of degree 666 at the transcendental vvv, so coefficients can be compared. For nˉ0=c1+c2v+c3vˉ+c4n0+c5n1\bar n_0 = c_1 + c_2v + c_3\bar v + c_4n_0 + c_5n_1nˉ0=c1+c2v+c3vˉ+c4n0+c5n1, the coefficients at v−3v^{-3}v−3, v−2v^{-2}v−2 and v2v^2v2 give c5=0c_5 = 0c5=0, c4=eˉc_4 = \bar ec4=eˉ and c4e=1c_4e = 1c4e=1, so eeˉ=1e\bar e = 1eeˉ=1. For nˉ1=d1+d2v+d3vˉ+d4n0+d5n1\bar n_1 = d_1 + d_2v + d_3\bar v + d_4n_0 + d_5n_1nˉ1=d1+d2v+d3vˉ+d4n0+d5n1, those at v−3v^{-3}v−3 and v3v^3v3 give eˉ=d5β\bar e = d_5\betaeˉ=d5β and βˉ=d5e\bar\beta = d_5eβˉ=d5e, so ββˉ=eeˉ=1\beta\bar\beta = e\bar e = 1ββˉ=eeˉ=1, and those at v−2v^{-2}v−2 and v2v^2v2 give d4=ζˉd_4 = \bar\zetad4=ζˉ and d4e+d5ζ=0d_4e + d_5\zeta = 0d4e+d5ζ=0, which multiplied by βe\beta eβe is βe2ζˉ+ζ=0\beta e^2\bar\zeta + \zeta = 0βe2ζˉ+ζ=0.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
