This is the orthogonality identity for Itô integrals driven by distinct coordinates of a multidimensional Brownian motion.

Let WWW be a ddd-dimensional Brownian motion, let i≠ji\ne ji=j, and let F\mathcal FF be a common Brownian filtration. Let HHH and KKK be measurable and progressively measurable integrands whose integrated squared norms are finite in ENNReal\mathrm{ENNReal}ENNReal on every positive interval. For t≥0t\ge0t≥0, the corresponding scalar Itô integrals satisfy

∫Iti(ω)Itj(ω) dP=0,\int I^i_t(\omega)I^j_t(\omega)\,dP=0,∫Iti(ω)Itj(ω)dP=0,

where Iti=stochasticIntegral(Wi,F,H,t)I^i_t=\texttt{stochasticIntegral}(W^i,\mathcal F,H,t)Iti=stochasticIntegral(Wi,F,H,t) and Itj=stochasticIntegral(Wj,F,K,t)I^j_t=\texttt{stochasticIntegral}(W^j,\mathcal F,K,t)Itj=stochasticIntegral(Wj,F,K,t).

The statement is the general orthogonality result obtained from elementary-integrand orthogonality and L2L^2L2 convergence.

Formalization Note The square-integrability hypotheses are expressed through MemLp in the supporting declarations, while the integrand assumptions use ENNReal\mathrm{ENNReal}ENNReal lower integrals.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
