Let Λ>0\Lambda>0Λ>0.

  1. (Existence) ω0(x)=Λ/3 x\omega_0(x)=\sqrt{\Lambda/3}\,xω0(x)=Λ/3x (i.e. ω0=Λ/3 r dr\omega_0=\sqrt{\Lambda/3}\,r\,drω0=Λ/3rdr) and η0=1\eta_0=1η0=1 form a smooth vacuum solution of the FFR equations (34)–(35) (with μ=0\mu=0μ=0, J=0J=0J=0) that satisfies (∇⋅ω0)/η0>0(\nabla\cdot\omega_0)/\eta_0>0(∇⋅ω0)/η0>0 and is spherically symmetric at infinity.
  2. (Uniqueness) If smooth (ω,η)(\omega,\eta)(ω,η) with η>0\eta>0η>0 and (∇⋅ω)/η>0(\nabla\cdot\omega)/\eta>0(∇⋅ω)/η>0 solve the vacuum FFR equations and are spherically symmetric at infinity, then for some constant c>0c>0c>0
η≡c,ω(x)=cΛ/3  x.\eta\equiv c,\qquad \omega(x)=c\sqrt{\Lambda/3}\;x .η≡c,ω(x)=cΛ/3x.

So the vacuum solution is unique up to an overall positive constant, i.e. a rescaling of the time coordinate.

Formalization Note The arrow-of-time convention (∇⋅ω)/η>0(\nabla\cdot\omega)/\eta>0(∇⋅ω)/η>0 (Convention 1, in force for Λ>0\Lambda>0Λ>0) is an explicit hypothesis; without it the time-reversed solution −ω0-\omega_0−ω0 also exists.

/-- **Goal — Corollary 2**: for `Λ > 0` there is a unique (up to an overall positive
constant, i.e. rescaling of `t`) smooth vacuum solution of (34)–(35) with `η > 0` that is
spherically symmetric at infinity (with the arrow-of-time convention `(∇·w)/η > 0`), namely
`w = √(Λ/3) r ∂ᵣ`, `η = 1`. -/

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
