This statement establishes locality of the weighted Laplacian weightedLaplacian.

Let EEE be a complete finite-dimensional real inner-product space, let U:E→RU:E\to\mathbb RU:E→R be arbitrary, let f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb Rf:E→R, and let x∈Ex\in Ex∈E. If xxx does not belong to the topological support of fff, then

weightedLaplacian⁡(U,f)(x)=0.\operatorname{weightedLaplacian}(U,f)(x)=0.weightedLaplacian(U,f)(x)=0.

The conclusion is independent of the potential UUU and expresses that the weighted Laplacian vanishes at every point outside the closed support of its argument.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
