This gives the exact integral correction under affine subtraction.

Let μ\muμ be a finite measure, let f:E→R‾f:E\to\overline{\mathbb R}f:E→R be potential-integrable, let a∈Ea\in Ea∈E, and let b∈Rb\in\mathbb Rb∈R. Assume the identity map is integrable with respect to μ\muμ. Then

∫toReal⁡((affineSubtract⁡f a b)(x)) dμ=∫toReal⁡(f(x)) dμ−∫⟨a,x⟩ dμ−(μ(E)).toReal⁡ b.\int \operatorname{toReal}\bigl((\operatorname{affineSubtract} f\ a\ b)(x)\bigr)\,d\mu = \int \operatorname{toReal}(f(x))\,d\mu -\int\langle a,x\rangle\,d\mu -(\mu(E)).\operatorname{toReal}\,b.∫toReal((affineSubtractf a b)(x))dμ=∫toReal(f(x))dμ−∫⟨a,x⟩dμ−(μ(E)).toRealb.

The total mass factor is retained; invariance under constant shifts is therefore not asserted for arbitrary finite measures.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
