Let χ\chiχ be a nontrivial Dirichlet character modulo N≥2N\ge2N≥2, and let Λ(s,χ)\Lambda(s,\chi)Λ(s,χ) be its completed LLL-function (Gamma factor times L(s,χ)L(s,\chi)L(s,χ)). For all real a≤ba\le ba≤b there is a constant CCC such that

∣Λ(s,χ)∣≤Cwhenever a≤ℜs≤b.|\Lambda(s,\chi)|\le C\qquad\text{whenever } a\le\Re s\le b.∣Λ(s,χ)∣≤Cwhenever a≤ℜs≤b.

The completed function is entire for nontrivial χ\chiχ; this states that it is bounded on every closed vertical strip. This is the standard a priori growth input for Phragmén–Lindelöf arguments.

Formalization Note Λ\LambdaΛ is Mathlib's DirichletCharacter.completedLFunction.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
