Here L\mathcal{L}L is the set of logarithms of algebraic numbers, and L~\widetilde{\mathcal{L}}L is the Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-vector space spanned by 111 and L\mathcal{L}L. Roy's strong six exponentials theorem is carried as the hypothesis hSSE: if x1,x2x_1, x_2x1,x2 are Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-linearly independent and so are y1,y2,y3y_1, y_2, y_3y1,y2,y3, then one of the six products xiyjx_iy_jxiyj is not in L~\widetilde{\mathcal{L}}L. Baker's theorem is carried as the hypothesis hB, in its two-logarithm inhomogeneous form, as in DiazModulus.candidate_one_log_saturation.

  1. Let λ0,λ1∈L~\lambda_0, \lambda_1 \in \widetilde{\mathcal{L}}λ0,λ1∈L with (1,λ0,λˉ0)(1, \lambda_0, \bar\lambda_0)(1,λ0,λˉ0) linearly independent over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q. If λ1/λ0∈(R∪iR)∩L~\lambda_1/\lambda_0 \in (\mathbb{R} \cup i\mathbb{R}) \cap \widetilde{\mathcal{L}}λ1/λ0∈(R∪iR)∩L, then λ1/λ0∈Q‾\lambda_1/\lambda_0 \in \overline{\mathbb{Q}}λ1/λ0∈Q.
  2. Let ℓ0,ℓ1∈L∖(R∪iR)\ell_0, \ell_1 \in \mathcal{L} \setminus (\mathbb{R} \cup i\mathbb{R})ℓ0,ℓ1∈L∖(R∪iR). If ℓ1/ℓ0∈(R∪iR)∩L~\ell_1/\ell_0 \in (\mathbb{R} \cup i\mathbb{R}) \cap \widetilde{\mathcal{L}}ℓ1/ℓ0∈(R∪iR)∩L, then ℓ1/ℓ0∈Q\ell_1/\ell_0 \in \mathbb{Q}ℓ1/ℓ0∈Q (this part uses hB).

Diaz obtains them by putting together the hypotheses of his conjectures (Q1) and (Qr1), resp. (Q2) and (Qr2): each pair of conjectural sufficient conditions together gives an effective one.

Proof. Théorème 4 (DiazModulus.diaz_2007_th4) with (x1,x2)=(1,λ1/λ0)(x_1, x_2) = (1, \lambda_1/\lambda_0)(x1,x2)=(1,λ1/λ0) and (y1,y2)=(λ0,λˉ0)(y_1, y_2) = (\lambda_0, \bar\lambda_0)(y1,y2)=(λ0,λˉ0), resp. (ℓ0,ℓˉ0)(\ell_0, \bar\ell_0)(ℓ0,ℓˉ0): the fourth product is ±λˉ1\pm\bar\lambda_1±λˉ1, resp. ±ℓˉ1\pm\bar\ell_1±ℓˉ1.

Novelty. None: this is Corollaire 6 of Diaz (2007), p. 387, with his proof. The contribution of this node is the formal proof.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
