Let P⊆RdP\subseteq\mathbb R^dP⊆Rd be an H-polyhedron defined by nnn inequalities, with n≤2dn\le 2dn≤2d. Let iii be a describing row that is tight at two distinct vertices z1≠z2z_1\neq z_2z1=z2. Then every vertex uuu of PPP is ridge-visible to row iii: either uuu itself is tight on row iii, or uuu is tight on some other row r≠ir\neq ir=i that meets row iii at a feasible point of PPP.

An extreme point is tight on at least ddd rows. Distinct extreme points have distinct tight-row sets, because a spanning set of tight normals uniquely recovers the point. Consequently the two vertices of the target row contribute at least d+1d+1d+1 rows that meet it. The complementary “far” rows therefore number at most d−1d-1d−1, which cannot cover the ≥d\ge d≥d tight rows of any vertex.

n≤2d,z1≠z2 tight on row i⟹every vertex is ridge-visible to row i.n\le 2d,\quad z_1\neq z_2\text{ tight on row }i \quad\Longrightarrow\quad \text{every vertex is ridge-visible to row }i.n≤2d,z1=z2 tight on row i⟹every vertex is ridge-visible to row i.

This extends the sub-balanced intersection lemma (n<2dn<2dn<2d) through the ddd-step equator n=2dn=2dn=2d, at the cost of requiring two distinct vertices on the target row (so the equality set is not a singleton). Boundedness and simplicity are not assumed. The statement does not bound graph distance to the target row when n>2dn>2dn>2d, and it does not by itself yield a uniform polynomial diameter.

Formalization Note Tight-row cardinality at least ddd holds for every extreme point of a finite H-presentation in Rd\mathbb R^dRd. The two-vertex hypothesis is used only to guarantee that the near-row union is strictly larger than a single ddd-set.

Campaign research on ridge-visible access for the Polynomial Hirsch conjecture (2026-09-11). Extends Hirsch.diamLE_le_section_diamLE_of_n_lt_two_d through n=2d when the target row is not a singleton face. Experiments on stacked duals and sausages: RV-distance is 0 throughout n<=2d, and the first positive RV appears at n=2d+3.
