Let a0≤⋯≤an−1a_0\le\cdots\le a_{n-1}a0≤⋯≤an−1, let k<n−1k<n-1k<n−1, and suppose ak<x<ak+1a_k<x<a_{k+1}ak<x<ak+1. Put

P(x)=∏i=0n−1(ai−x)wi,M(x)=∏i=0n−1∣ai−x∣wi,P(x)=\prod_{i=0}^{n-1}(a_i-x)^{w_i},\qquad M(x)=\prod_{i=0}^{n-1}|a_i-x|^{w_i},P(x)=i=0∏n−1(ai−x)wi,M(x)=i=0∏n−1∣ai−x∣wi,

where complex powers use the principal branch, and let

θk=π∑i=0kwi.\theta_k=\pi\sum_{i=0}^{k}w_i.θk=πi=0∑kwi.

Then the difference between the principal boundary value and its complex conjugate is

P(x)−P(x)‾=2i M(x)sin⁡θk.P(x)-\overline{P(x)}=2i\,M(x)\sin\theta_k.P(x)−P(x)=2iM(x)sinθk.

This is the branch-cut jump on the interval (ak,ak+1)(a_k,a_{k+1})(ak,ak+1). After division by 2πi2\pi i2πi, it produces the sine coefficient in the weighted real-integral identity.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
