The Matschke--Santos--Weibel Q28Q_{28}Q28 polar normals

Definition

by jjosh · Sep 5, 2026 · Mathlib c5ea003 (Lean v4.30.0)

hirsch-conjecturepolytopesprismatoid

The 28 vertices of the five-dimensional prismatoid Q28Q_{28}Q28 of Matschke, Santos and Weibel (Corollary 2.9), recorded as vectors in R5\mathbb R^5R5. These serve as outward normals of the polar H-polytope

P={x∈R5:⟨ai,x⟩≤1, i=1,…,28},P=\{x\in\mathbb R^5:\langle a_i,x\rangle\le 1,\ i=1,\ldots,28\},P={x∈R5:⟨ai,x⟩≤1, i=1,…,28},

with distinguished apices u=e5u=e_5u=e5 and v=−e5v=-e_5v=−e5 corresponding to the two bases x5=±1x_5=\pm 1x5=±1.

Formalization Note vec5 builds EuclideanSpace ℝ (Fin 5) as a sum of EuclideanSpace.single. q28A lists the 28 normals; q28B is constantly 111; q28U and q28V are ±e5\pm e_5±e5.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
