integer-multiplication

Let p≥0p\ge0p≥0 and 1≤r1\le r1≤r with 2r<2p2r<2^p2r<2p, and let U0,U1,V0,V1U_0,U_1,V_0,V_1U0,U1,V0,V1 be integer coefficient lists of length rrr with entries bounded by 2p2^p2p in absolute value (so u=2−p(U0+iU1)u=2^{-p}(U_0+iU_1)u=2−p(U0+iU1) and v=2−p(V0+iV1)v=2^{-p}(V_0+iV_1)v=2−p(V0+iV1) are fixed-point elements of C[y]/(yr+1)\mathbb C[y]/(y^r+1)C[y]/(yr+1)). The algorithm mulR computes the four products UjVkU_jV_kUjVk by Kronecker substitution, reduces modulo yr+1y^r+1yr+1 and rounds. Its output equals the specification mulRSpec, i.e. the exact coefficients of 22pr⋅uv/r2^{2p}r\cdot uv/r22pr⋅uv/r divided by 2pr2^pr2pr and rounded towards zero. This is the correctness part of Lemma 2.5 of Harvey–van der Hoeven (see IntMul_HvdH_KronMul).

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
