Let GGG be a finite simple graph with vertex set VVV and let N≥0N\ge 0N≥0 be an integer. If GGG has at most NNN vertices, then

tww⁡(G)≤N.\operatorname{tww}(G)\le N .tww(G)≤N.

In the proof of Theorem 4.2 (with N=2kN=2^kN=2k) this disposes of graphs with at most 2k2^k2k vertices, so that the remaining argument may assume ∣V∣≥2k+1|V|\ge 2^k+1∣V∣≥2k+1.

Formalization Note. tww⁡(G)≤N\operatorname{tww}(G)\le Ntww(G)≤N is the predicate TwinWidthLE G N of the setting (sequences of NNN-partitions from singletons to at most one part). No lower bound on NNN or ∣V∣|V|∣V∣ is assumed; the empty graph is covered.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
