Let GGG be a finite simple graph with finite edge set and decidable adjacency, let DDD be an ordinary polygonal drawing of GGG with no crossings, and let AAA be plane-face data for GGG and DDD. If GGG is a tree, then the face type carried by AAA has exactly one element:

# A.Face=1.\#\,A.\mathrm{Face}=1.#A.Face=1.

Thus a crossing-free drawing of a tree has a single complementary face in the plane-face decomposition.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
