Theorem 1.12 — the reversed process is stationary Markov with rates
ProvedKellyReversibility.Reversibility.reversed_process_markovLet be a stationary Markov process on a finite state space with transition rates (), irreducible, and equilibrium distribution . Then the reversed process is a stationary Markov process with transition rates
and the same equilibrium distribution .
The theorem holds whether or not is reversible; it identifies the time reversal of any stationary Markov process.
Formalization Note The conclusion has two parts: is an equilibrium distribution for , and for every the finite-dimensional distributions of coincide with those of the stationary Markov process with rates and equilibrium distribution , i.e. equals the corresponding probability for that process at times . The rates are reversedRates of the published file KellyStochasticNetworks_Balance. The state space is finite.
