This is a combinatorial lemma for the ordered selection operation selected.

For any type EEE, any m∈Nm\in\mathbb Nm∈N, any list of directions h:Fin⁡(m)→Eh:\operatorname{Fin}(m)\to Eh:Fin(m)→E, and any Boolean mask q:Fin⁡(m)→{false,true}q:\operatorname{Fin}(m)\to\{\mathrm{false},\mathrm{true}\}q:Fin(m)→{false,true}:

  1. The lengths of the selected and complementary lists add to mmm.
  2. Their concatenation is a permutation of List.ofFn h.
  3. The mask selecting exactly one fixed index iii produces the singleton list [hi][h_i][hi].
  4. If selected h q has length 111, then qqq is the indicator of some single index.

The result is purely combinatorial and supports the subset bookkeeping in higher-order Leibniz expansions.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
