Letters distinct mod 2K2^K2K implies at most 2K2^K2K letters

arithmetic-progressionscombinatoricserdos-problems

If the letters of a duplicate-free finite word QQQ of integers are pairwise incongruent modulo 2K2^K2K, then

∣Q∣≤2K.|Q|\le 2^K.∣Q∣≤2K.

Combined with the previous characterization: a word all of whose open pairs have 222-adic level <K<K<K has at most 2K2^K2K letters (Erdős Problem 195, Ho-style constructions).

Formalization note: treeLt is from Definitions.Def_Erdos195_tree; Safe, bitOne from Definitions.Def_Erdos195_defs; positions are List.idxOf, ν2\nu_2ν2 is padicValInt 2.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
