All discounted and undiscounted Stieltjes barrier rewards vanish before the first upper passage

avram-classicaldiscounted-dividendsfirst-passagestieltjesstrong-markov

For any nonnegative extended-real reward weight, including exponential discounting, the Stieltjes dividend integral over the full closed time interval from 0 through the first finite upward passage is zero. The first passage generates no pre-exit dividends, so the strong-Markov value decomposition may restrict its reward to later times.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
