algebraic-geometryarithmetic-geometrymazur-theorem

Let X be an integral smooth proper geometrically irreducible curve over an arbitrary field K. Let M be an invertible sheaf, with Euler characteristic equal to that of the structure sheaf on a chosen two-affine cover. If M has a full divisor presentation by a principal divisor E, then

M≃OX.M\simeq\mathcal O_X.M≃OX.

The statement retains the original naturality, scalar compatibility, injectivity and affine-open range conditions of the presentation. No perfection or algebraic-closure hypothesis is added. The result identifies the kernel of the geometric arithmetic Picard-class map.

Design boundary: a principal function-field presentation gives a nonzero global
section, and numerical degree zero then gives a trivial line bundle over the
actual base field. Named downstream consumer: the kernel of the order-13
arithmetic Picard-point map. No algebraic-closure hypothesis is imposed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
