For every real number FFF,

eFe−F+eF=e2F1+e2F.\frac{e^{F}}{e^{-F} + e^{F}} = \frac{e^{2F}}{1 + e^{2F}}.e−F+eFeF=1+e2Fe2F.

The left-hand side is the symmetric logistic transform appearing in (13); the right-hand side is the usual logistic model (15) evaluated at 2F2F2F. Hence the model of Lemma 1 and the usual logistic model are equivalent up to a factor 222 in FFF.

/-- Display (15) (p. 346): multiplying numerator and denominator of (13) by `e^{F}` gives the
usual logistic model, `e^{F}/(e^{−F} + e^{F}) = e^{2F}/(1 + e^{2F})`. -/

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
