Positive separation of disjoint nonempty compact sets

Proved
PositiveSeparation

If AAA and BBB are nonempty, disjoint compact subsets of the Euclidean plane, then they have positive mutual separation:

\exists \delta>0,\quad orall a\in A\ orall b\in B,\quad \delta\le d(a,b).

This is the compactness lemma that turns disjointness of the old prefix region and the polygonal tail into a uniform distance bound.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
