Every polyhedron vertex supplies an injective basis of original tight rows

formalizationlinear-algebrapolyhedra

At every extreme point v of an n-row real H-polyhedron in R^d, one can select exactly d distinct original rows, all tight at v, whose row-evaluation map is injective. No simplicity, boundedness, strict interior point, or supplied basis is required. In particular this applies to nonsimple vertices with more than d tight rows.

This is classical active-row basis extraction. Its role in the Polynomial Hirsch workspace is to remove the previously explicit basis input from the full-availability compact-star construction. The present statement itself asserts neither a diameter bound nor the existence of feedback models for arbitrary carriers.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
