This statement gives the affine version of the source Stein identity.

Let n∈Nn\in\mathbb Nn∈N. Let u,h:Rn→Ru,h:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb Ru,h:Rn→R be C1C^1C1, with uuu and ∇u∇u∇u globally Lipschitz and ∫e−u=1\int e^{-u}=1∫e−u=1. Let hhh be globally Lipschitz and bounded by CCC. For a continuous linear map SSS, and vectors z,v∈Rnz,v\in\mathbb R^nz,v∈Rn, both functions below are integrable under ν=volume⁡.tilted⁡(−u)ν=\operatorname{volume}.\operatorname{tilted}(-u)ν=volume.tilted(−u), and

∫⟨S∇u(y),v⟩h(S∇u(y)+z) dν(y)=∫⟨S∗v,action⁡ ⁣(∇2u(y),S∗∇h(S∇u(y)+z))⟩dν(y).\int \langle S∇u(y),v\rangle h(S∇u(y)+z)\,dν(y) = \int \left\langle S^*v,\operatorname{action}\!\left(\nabla^2u(y),S^*∇h(S∇u(y)+z)\right)\right\rangle dν(y).∫⟨S∇u(y),v⟩h(S∇u(y)+z)dν(y)=∫⟨S∗v,action(∇2u(y),S∗∇h(S∇u(y)+z))⟩dν(y).

This identity is the affine source component used in the Gaussian product coupling.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
