Let u∈C∖Q‾u \in \mathbb{C} \setminus \overline{\mathbb{Q}}u∈C∖Q, and let s∈Q‾s \in \overline{\mathbb{Q}}s∈Q be real with s2=uuˉs^2 = u\bar us2=uuˉ (so s=±∣u∣s = \pm|u|s=±∣u∣). Let λ∈Q‾\lambda \in \overline{\mathbb{Q}}λ∈Q with ∣λ∣=1|\lambda| = 1∣λ∣=1, let f∈Cf \in \mathbb{C}f∈C be real, put g=f/(s+λu)g = f/(s + \lambda u)g=f/(s+λu), and let WWW be the Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q-span of 1,u,uˉ,f,g1, u, \bar u, f, g1,u,uˉ,f,g. Suppose these five numbers are free over Q‾\overline{\mathbb{Q}}Q. Then WWW is stable under complex conjugation, and the products of (1,u)(1, u)(1,u) and (u−1,1,g)(u^{-1}, 1, g)(u−1,1,g), two free families, all lie in WWW.

This is the family W(λ,f)W(\lambda, f)W(λ,f) of the research notes: the conjugation-stable five-dimensional spaces containing H0=Q‾+Q‾u+Q‾uˉH_0 = \overline{\mathbb{Q}} + \overline{\mathbb{Q}}u + \overline{\mathbb{Q}}\bar uH0=Q+Qu+Quˉ that carry a 2×32 \times 32×3 configuration (1,u)⊗(y1,y2,y3)(1, u) \otimes (y_1, y_2, y_3)(1,u)⊗(y1,y2,y3) (after rescaling). It is not a geometric progression in general, so it is a separate case from the involution spaces of R9.

Proof. u≠0u \neq 0u=0, s≠0s \neq 0s=0 and s+λu≠0s + \lambda u \neq 0s+λu=0 since uuu is transcendental; uˉ=s2/u\bar u = s^2/uuˉ=s2/u. Using λλˉ=1\lambda\bar\lambda = 1λλˉ=1, gˉ=f/s−g\bar g = f/s - ggˉ=f/s−g and ug=(f−sg)/λug = (f - sg)/\lambdaug=(f−sg)/λ, so conjugation maps each generator into WWW, and x=(1,u)x = (1, u)x=(1,u), y=(u−1,1,g)y = (u^{-1}, 1, g)y=(u−1,1,g) has its six products u−1=uˉ/s2,1,g,u,1,ugu^{-1} = \bar u/s^2, 1, g, u, 1, ugu−1=uˉ/s2,1,g,u,1,ug in WWW. Both families are free: u∉Q‾u \notin \overline{\mathbb{Q}}u∈/Q, and (u−1,1,g)(u^{-1}, 1, g)(u−1,1,g) is a rescaled subfamily of the five free generators.

Novelty. Not found in the sources read; it is short.
