In the three-value instance of §3, consider the non-strategic utility, in which individuals do not change their features:

uNS(π,γ)=∑x=13P(x) (P(y=1∣x)−γ) π(x).u_{\mathrm{NS}}(\pi,\gamma)=\sum_{x=1}^{3}P(x)\,\bigl(P(y=1\mid x)-\gamma\bigr)\,\pi(x).uNS(π,γ)=x=1∑3P(x)(P(y=1∣x)−γ)π(x).

A policy π\piπ with values in [0,1][0,1][0,1] maximizes uNSu_{\mathrm{NS}}uNS over all such policies if and only if π(x)=1\pi(x)=1π(x)=1 for x=1,2,3x=1,2,3x=1,2,3.

Since every P(y=1∣x)P(y=1\mid x)P(y=1∣x) exceeds γ=0.1\gamma=0.1γ=0.1, this is the deterministic threshold rule (8), and it is the unique non-strategic optimum.

Formalization Note Optimality is IsMaxOn over the whole set of policies [0,1]3[0,1]^3[0,1]3.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
