Let Λ>0\Lambda>0Λ>0.

  1. (Existence) f0(x)=Λ/12 ∣x∣2f_0(x)=\sqrt{\Lambda/12}\,|x|^2f0(x)=Λ/12∣x∣2, ζ=0\zeta=0ζ=0, η=1\eta=1η=1 is a smooth vacuum solution of the elliptic form (39)–(41) (with μ=0\mu=0μ=0, J=0J=0J=0), with Δf0>0\Delta f_0>0Δf0>0, f0f_0f0 approximately spherically symmetric at infinity, and satisfying the boundary conditions ζ→0\zeta\to0ζ→0, η→1\eta\to1η→1.
  2. (Uniqueness) If smooth (f,ζ,η)(f,\zeta,\eta)(f,ζ,η) with η>0\eta>0η>0 and Δf/η>0\Delta f/\eta>0Δf/η>0 solve the vacuum elliptic system, fff is approximately spherically symmetric at infinity, and
lim⁡x→∞ζ(x)=0  (67),lim⁡x→∞η(x)=1  (68),\lim_{x\to\infty}\zeta(x)=0\ \ (67),\qquad \lim_{x\to\infty}\eta(x)=1\ \ (68),x→∞limζ(x)=0  (67),x→∞limη(x)=1  (68),

then ζ≡0\zeta\equiv0ζ≡0, η≡1\eta\equiv1η≡1 and f(x)=Λ/12 ∣x∣2+cf(x)=\sqrt{\Lambda/12}\,|x|^2+cf(x)=Λ/12∣x∣2+c for some constant ccc.

So the solution is unique up to an additive constant in fff.

Formalization Note The arrow-of-time convention Δf/η>0\Delta f/\eta>0Δf/η>0, used in the paper's proof, is an explicit hypothesis; without it −f0-f_0−f0 would be a second solution.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
