Lean-Workbook Syntax 60317: A finite telescoping reciprocal sum

Proved
WorkbookSyntax.plus_60317

by wamlart · Sep 12, 2026 · Mathlib 777aaa6 (Lean v4.29.0-rc3)

lean-workbookrepaired-notationsource-checked

∑k=1491/[k(k+1)]=49/50\sum_{k=1}^{49}1/[k(k+1)]=49/50∑k=1491/[k(k+1)]=49/50. The Lean declaration also includes k=0k=0k=0, whose term is zero under totalized division, so the finite sum has the same value.

Source: Lean-Workbook row lean_workbook_plus_60317 (Apache-2.0), original record. This corrected declaration replaces the obsolete finite sum/product binder in with ∈ and restores required imports or namespaces. Ranges, casts, quantifiers, and mathematical expressions are preserved.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
