Let A,R,CA,R,CA,R,C be finite sets, r:A→Rr:A\to Rr:A→R a row assignment, and I⊆C×AI\subseteq C\times AI⊆C×A a zero-one incidence matrix. Suppose each coordinate belongs to at most ddd columns. If x∈[0,1]Ax\in[0,1]^Ax∈[0,1]A has integer sums on every row, there exists X∈{0,1}AX\in\{0,1\}^AX∈{0,1}A such that

∑a:r(a)=sXa=∑a:r(a)=sxa(s∈R),∣∑a:(c,a)∈I(Xa−xa)∣≤4d(c∈C).\sum_{a:r(a)=s}X_a=\sum_{a:r(a)=s}x_a\quad(s\in R),\qquad \left|\sum_{a:(c,a)\in I}(X_a-x_a)\right|\le 4d\quad(c\in C).a:r(a)=s∑Xa=a:r(a)=s∑xa(s∈R),a:(c,a)∈I∑(Xa−xa)≤4d(c∈C).

This is the finite rounding step in the guarded upper-bound construction for Erdős problem 390. Its row equalities preserve complete signatures, while its discrepancy bound controls the subsequent prime-valuation correction.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
