Let PPP be an integrable probability law on Rd\mathbb R^dRd, with mean cˉ=EP[c]\bar c=\mathbb E_P[c]cˉ=EP[c], and let SSS be a nonempty compact convex feasible set. If a cost prediction c∗c^*c∗ minimizes the true SPO risk over all predictions, then

W∗(c∗)⊆W∗(cˉ).W^*(c^*)\subseteq W^*(\bar c).W∗(c∗)⊆W∗(cˉ).

Every decision optimal for the prediction is then also optimal for the mean cost.

Formalization Note The SPO loss is Definition 2's maximum over all prediction-optimal decisions, and its risk is an extended nonnegative integral. No continuity or symmetry condition is added.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
