This is a positivity statement for a tilted probability law.

Let VVV be a measurable space, let ν\nuν be a probability measure on VVV, let mmm be a measure on VVV, and let W:V→RW:V\to\mathbb RW:V→R. Assume that ν=m.tilted(−W)\nu=m.\mathrm{tilted}(-W)ν=m.tilted(−W) as measures. Then the normalizing integral is strictly positive:

0<∫Ve−W(x) dm(x).0<\int_V e^{-W(x)}\,dm(x).0<∫Ve−W(x)dm(x).

The result is a basic normalization fact used when identifying densities of tilted probability measures; it does not require norm, inner-product, finite-dimensional, or Borel-space structure.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
