Let G\mathcal GG be a trim generator over a finite alphabet Σ\SigmaΣ, and let S=(S,ϕ)\mathcal S = (S, \phi)S=(S,ϕ), S=(X,Σ,ξ,x0,Xm)S = (X, \Sigma, \xi, x_0, X_m)S=(X,Σ,ξ,x0,Xm), be a complete supervisor for G\mathcal GG with SSS accessible. Put K3:=L(S/G)K_3 := L(\mathcal S/\mathcal G)K3:=L(S/G) and assume that SSS is K3K_3K3-reduced and K3K_3K3-trim. Let S^0=(X0,Σ,ξ0,x00,X0)\hat S^0 = (X^0, \Sigma, \xi^0, x^0_0, X^0)S^0=(X0,Σ,ξ0,x00,X0) be a trim recognizer for K3K_3K3 in which every state is marked. Then for all s,t∈K3s, t \in K_3s,t∈K3,

ξ0(s,x00)=ξ0(t,x00)  ⟹  ξ(s,x0)=ξ(t,x0).\xi^0(s, x^0_0) = \xi^0(t, x^0_0) \implies \xi(s, x_0) = \xi(t, x_0).ξ0(s,x00)=ξ0(t,x00)⟹ξ(s,x0)=ξ(t,x0).

Hence π(x0):=ξ(s,x0)\pi(x^0) := \xi(s, x_0)π(x0):=ξ(s,x0), for any s∈K3s \in K_3s∈K3 with ξ0(s,x00)=x0\xi^0(s, x^0_0) = x^0ξ0(s,x00)=x0, defines a map π:X0→X\pi : X^0 \to Xπ:X0→X; this is the first step of the proof of the quotient structure theorem.

Formalization Note K3K_3K3 is written out as the closed-loop language of S\mathcal SS. Both sides of each equation are optional states (Option); for s,t∈K3s, t \in K_3s,t∈K3 they are defined.

/-- Proof of Theorem 10.1 (p. 223, second paragraph): the map `π(x⁰) := ξ(s, x₀)` for
`s ∈ K₃` with `ξ⁰(s, x⁰₀) = x⁰` is well defined: if `s, t ∈ K₃` and `ξ⁰(s, x⁰₀) = ξ⁰(t, x⁰₀)`,
then `ξ(s, x₀) = ξ(t, x₀)`. -/

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
