This expresses an exponential posterior expectation through the log-partition function.

Let μ\muμ be a compactly supported probability measure on Rn\mathbb{R}^nRn, let z∈Rnz\in\mathbb{R}^nz∈Rn, and let q=(c,Q)q=(c,Q)q=(c,Q) be a localization parameter. Then

Eμc,Q ⁣[e⟨z,X⟩]=exp⁡ ⁣(ψ(c+z,Q)−ψ(c,Q)).\mathbb E_{\mu_{c,Q}}\!\left[e^{\langle z,X\rangle}\right] =\exp\!\left(\psi(c+z,Q)-\psi(c,Q)\right).Eμc,Q[e⟨z,X⟩]=exp(ψ(c+z,Q)−ψ(c,Q)).

The formal statement uses posteriorExpectation and logPartition. It is the algebraic bridge between posterior exponential moments and the posterior log-Laplace transform.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
