This is an independence factorization for powers of a Brownian increment.

Let WWW be a Brownian motion with Brownian filtration F\mathcal FF. Let 0≤a<b0\le a<b0≤a<b, let Y:Ω→RY:\Omega\to\mathbb RY:Ω→R be strongly measurable with respect to Fa\mathcal F_aFa and measurable, and let m∈Nm\in\mathbb Nm∈N. Then

∫Y(ω)(Wb(ω)−Wa(ω))m dP=(∫Y dP)(∫(Wb−Wa)m dP).\int Y(\omega)\bigl(W_b(\omega)-W_a(\omega)\bigr)^m\,dP = \left(\int Y\,dP\right) \left(\int (W_b-W_a)^m\,dP\right).∫Y(ω)(Wb(ω)−Wa(ω))mdP=(∫YdP)(∫(Wb−Wa)mdP).

This statement formalizes the independence of information available by time aaa from every power of the increment over (a,b](a,b](a,b].

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
